Response – The public needs concrete answers, not Vesna Medenica’s pathos

Every new explanation by the Supreme Court President Vesna Medenica regarding her family and
business relationship with controversial businessman Zoran Bećirović raises additional questions, but
still does not answer the key ones.

MANS’ investigation found that not only did Medenica hide revenue of €140,000, and that the land was
sold to Zoran Bećirović’s company, but for the first time, we have an open confession that Medenica is a
long-time close friend with Bećirović.

However, the public is still denied information as to why seemingly simple business between two close
friends had to be done through a series of companies from Montenegro and Cyprus. Why it was
necessary to pay Medenica with money from a loan from Cyprus, through a company in Kolašin that
exists only on paper.

It is true, according to Medenica, that Lolkan Investments is a real estate company and it should not
come as a surprise that she sold her land through it.

However, the fact is that, although Lolkan has existed since 2008, the purchase of Medenica’s land was
the only business that Bećirović did through this company. Other real estate owned by Lolkan
Investment was recorded as a founding stake of Katun company, and in the year when the real estate
was purchased from Medenica, the total annual income was one (1) Euro.

Medenica continues to refuse to answer to the public why she kept secret that the land had been sold
precisely to Bećirović, as well as why she was hiding that they were close friends while the newspaper
pages were filled with information about Bećirović's controversial affairs.

We are sorry if Medenica sold her land for a low price as she claims, and we are especially sorry it
included her long-time close friend Bećirović who seemed to have no understanding of her difficult
situation and offered her only 5 Euros per m2 .

However, we once again remind the President of the Supreme Court that she is obliged to provide the
public with answers to these questions and that it is distasteful that, as someone whose housing issue
was resolved by the citizens three times, she is trying to win public sympathy and justify herself for
obvious violation of the law.
